Today, 21 PA school districts already have cell phone bans during school hours.
Support them and this bipartisan senate bill: “Restricting access to personal electronic devices during the school day will help drive student engagement with teachers, classmates, and staff; they will get to have a safe space to grow and become the best versions of themselves; and we as taxpayers get to feel more confident that our investment in education isn’t wasted by distracted kids.”
PA Unplugged also espouses waiting until 9th grade for a child to get a smartphone, which benefits us all from less RF radiation from fewer wireless devices.
Please voice your support for phone-free schools:
1) Attend PA Senate (Oct. 21) and/or House Hearing (Nov. 17)
2) LINK to the PA Unplugged "Take Action" page.
3) Are you or a family member or friend a constituent of any of the below districts? PA Unplugged is trying to meet with the members below of the Education Committee this week - contact pennsylvaniaunplugged@gmail.com if you are willing to send a note.
