Electromagnetic Radiation Syndrome (EMR-S)

Many communities do not want small wireless facilities for 5G. These can be installed in very close proximity to bedroom windows. The radiation we are measuring is far greater than the exposure one is exposed to from a large cell tower. The antennas are low to the ground and closer to us resulting in very high radiation readings (power density). Important things to remember including: •

• PA lawmakers passed Act 50, which facilitates the rollout of 5G, disallowing testimony from experts on public safety. The public was also not allowed to comment.  
• August 13,2021 - A US Court of Appeals ruled the FFC's decision to retain their 1996 guidelines was "arbitrary and capricious" and that the FCC failed to respond to record evidence of over 10,000 pages of research abstracts as well as testimony of people harmed by wireless. The FCC failed to address extended exposures, impacts to children, people already harmed, the environment, and more. 
• The harm is significant enough that insurers such as Lloyds of London and the Swiss Institute refuse to insure it. Swiss Re describes 5G mobile networks as an “off the leash risk” expecting impacts on “property and casualty”. As a result, ATT, Verizon, T-Mobile, Crown Castle, etc. do not carry insurance for this harm as it is considered a pollutant excluded from insurance by clause 32. 
• There is no need for 5G, as it is not anywhere near as fast as cable or fiber optic.

A District of Columbia US Court of Appeals in the case of Environmental Health Trust et al v. FCC (Docket No. 20-1025) ruled on August 13, 2021:

• The December 2019 decision by the FCC to retain 1996 guidelines for human exposure was "arbitrary and capricious." 
• The FCC failed to respond to "record evidence that exposure to RF radiation at levels below the Commission's current limits may cause negative health effects unrelated to cancer. "
•  The agency demonstrated a "complete failure to respond to comments containing evidence of harm caused by RF radiation."

URGENT ACTION NEEDED: Check Back Often For Updates

PA Act 50 was signed into law in June, 2021 and became effective August 29, 2021. This law reduces local control and accelerates industry's rollout of 5G, which uses  radio frequency/microwave (RF/MW) radiation transmitted by ubiquitous small cell towers usually in close proximity to homes. 

• there is known harm to humans, animals and the environment
• reduced property values
• loss of privacy

ACT 50 was rushed through both the PA House and Senate before being signed into law by  Governor Wolf on June 30, 2021. Public and professional testimony in opposition was not permitted over a period spanning more than 3 years in violation of the Sunshine Act.  Act 50 will accelerate the placement and operation of RF/MW radiation antennas near homes, schools and workplaces. Need tests are not allowed nor are RF/MW radiation limits prescribed. Antennas can be up to 3 cubic feet in size with 28 cubic feet of supporting equipment.  

ACTION ITEMS:

1. Work with your municipality to develop the most protective ordinance you can.

2. Call your PA Senator and Representative and tell them to repeal Act 50 and oppose HB 2071. 

3. Share our downloadable educational materials with your family, friends and 

lawmakers. These can be found on the 2nd to last page of this website, under "Resource Files." (Did you know... and Broadband Legislation...) 

4. Send the document on our website containing the 26 volumes of evidence of harm that the FCC failed to respond to in Federal Court, as well as the ruling in EHT et al v FCC.

IT'S HARMFUL:

Legislators were not briefed on harm because doing so was prohibited, however, a course for physicians on this topic spans 4 days! The guidelines set by the FCC that industry counts on as assurance of safety were the subject of a recent US Court of Appeals ruling on August 13, 2021 (EHT et al v FCC). The FCC could not provide evidence to back up the guidelines in place and they ignored 26 volumes of evidence of harm containing over 10,000 pages of evidence. Four of the volumes were from people already injured and disabled. See the evidence of harm on the Legal Resource Files section of our website. Scroll down to find the file under FEDERAL FILES.  Please send these 26 files to your municipality and legislators, asking them to protect you from this harmful radiation. Be sure to tell them that the FCC also failed to address:

• impacts to children
• impacts of long term exposure
• testimony of people injured by radiation produced by wireless 
• impacts to wildlife and the environment
• impacts to the developing brain and reproduction

We have already paid for fiber-to-the-premises (FTTP) but did not get it. Let's get our money back. Another court ruling, Irregulators v. FCC, ruled that wireless companies did not provide the Fiber Optic service paid for by consumers over the past 30 years in extra fees on their monthly phone bills. Verizon alone owes Pennsylvanians 3.7 BILLION dollars. This money could be used to close the "digital divide" in rural areas. The Irregulators ruling frees the states to go after this money. Dr Alexia McKNight gave a TEDx talk at the Fulton Theatre in Lancaster on Monday, October 25, 2021. We were expecting a video to share of her TEDx talk; however, the recording was lost and not recoverable. She will give the talk again next October, however, we do not have the recording as expected from October 2021. 

The Fulton Theatre was very accommodating to those with EMS, turning off WiFi, requesting the audience turn off their cell phones, and explaining why this was important. The Theme for the 2021 talks was Making a Difference. The Fulton Theatre certainly made a difference for those in attendance with EMS, and also in educating the public about this important matter.

DR KENT CHAMBERLIN, NH STATE COMMISSION ON 5G

Dr. Kent Chamberlin, who served on the State of New Hampshire’s 5G Commission, has released his presentation on the Commission's findings to be used to educate our policy makers (of all kinds) and the public on wireless safety. Dr. Chamberlin has a professional engineering and technology background. He was initially under the impression when first asked to serve on the Commission, that there would be nothing harmful about our wireless technologies. Both he and the Commission found otherwise.

This presentation was made to the Lenox MA Board Of Health this past August and it is an excellent and comprehensive overview of the harm of wireless and the research. We highly recommend sharing it with policy makers and others. Dr. Chamberlin is an expert and highly credible voice who is expanding and changing minds on this issue. This is an excellent video for you to have on hand and to share as an educational resource.
